Mission
The Arcanys Early Learning Foundation (AELF), based in the Philippines, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering parents to nurture their children’s potential during the crucial early childhood development years. AELF has been an advocate of early math and logic development since 2012, providing free parent-child math coaching to Filipino families. The foundation’s mission is simple yet transformative: to ensure that every child, regardless of background, has equal opportunity to thrive through early education.
Actions
In Cebu City’s overcrowded slums, children’s education is not a priority. The priority is to earn money to feed the family. In these low-income communities, violence, drugs, prostitution, and forced work are unfortunately part of many children’s everyday lives. This is where the Arcanys Early Learning Foundation steps in. AELF focuses on children aged 3 to 5, introducing early math and logic skills—tools that help open doors to brighter futures for kids that may otherwise miss early learning opportunities.
Recognizing early education as a key to success, AELF teachers efficiently impart practical teaching methods to preschool children and their parents. Through this 3 to 6-month program, children learn number identification, object counting, rote counting, numerical comparison, missing numbers, and simple addition.
This AELF math coaching program grants the children from these low-income communities a brighter future in academics, as well as in their personal and professional lives. Parents are also becoming early education ambassadors in the community, a key to bringing sustainable change. Since 2012, 5,000 families have benefitted from AELF programs, contributing to creating a community-driven, lasting impact in low-income communities where education is often out of reach.
Projects that US Donors Can Support
Through Friends of Fondation de France, US-based donors have the power to create opportunities for underserved children by contributing to the AELF mission.
The Arcanys Early Learning Foundation aims to expand its early education program and reach more low-income families, providing young children with critical early math and logic education. Currently, AELF operates four learning centers in Cebu City and seeks to extend its early education program to more families in new communities.
Your support can help AELF extend its reach to new communities, ensuring that early education becomes a reality for thousands of children who might otherwise miss out. Together, we can nurture the potential of these children and empower their families, creating positive change for future generations.
