Fondation Arts et Métiers
Mission & Vision
The Fondation Arts et Métiers is a French public interest foundation established in 1977. Its vision is to make technology accessible to as many people as possible and to help students understand the engineering profession. The foundation promotes initiatives to develop the industry of the future on its campuses and supports creators in their development. It also aims to assist middle and high school students in their educational journeys and to promote a desire for excellence by awarding prizes and scholarships to the most deserving students.
The foundation’s mission is multifaceted, promoting public interest, providing education, conducting scientific research, and offering support and aid. These missions include:
Promoting Technology Among Youth: Introducing the engineering profession to middle and high school students and families through its Technology Forum.
Helping Young People and Students Develop Their Talents: Supporting students who are pursuing scientific and technological studies, enabling them to attend the best universities worldwide with excellence scholarships.
Encouraging Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Supporting startup creators with loans or prizes and contributing to innovation and research by funding doctoral theses.
Supporting Engineer Training: Aiding engineering education at higher education and research institutions, particularly ENSAM, by developing leadership and expertise in 21st-century industry 4.0 technologies.
Actions Led
For over two centuries, the Arts et Métiers School has supported industrial transformations. Today, it aims to reinforce its mission by training future leaders of responsible industries through the implementation of the ELF (Evolutive Learning Factories) program, a connected school-factory on all its campuses. The Fondation Arts et Métiers is partnering in this ambitious program, which requires an investment of over 80 million euros, including 15 million euros from private funding collected from alumni and corporate partners over the next four years.
Focused on the digital and technological revolution of the industry, eco-responsibility, and collaborative engineering, this groundbreaking program requires significant support. It will lead to concrete actions and investments aimed at providing high-quality education with cutting-edge pedagogical tools, attracting top talent in a highly competitive environment, and ensuring eco-responsibility and collaborative engineering practices.
Projects That US Donors Can Support
By contributing to the campaign for the Evolutive Learning Factories, American donors will help fund scientific equipment across the 8 campuses of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers.
The ELF program is centered around three Key Focus Areas to elevate the Arts et Métiers School to one of Europe’s top engineering institutions:
- Digital and Technological Revolution: This includes connected and robotic manufacturing, digital twins, agile production, and a smart factory.
- Eco-Responsibility and Sustainability: Efforts here focus on energy impact and recycling metal alloys.
- Innovative Collaborative Engineering: This area covers the creation of learning centers, learning spaces, and the reconstruction of the iconic Delage V12 Labourdette car.
Be a part of shaping the future of engineering education. Your support for the Fondation Arts et Métiers will drive technological innovation, support emerging talent, and promote sustainability.
