Institut Professeur Baulieu funds the research of the factors causing Alzheimer’s disease, prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and treatments for cerebral dysfunction. More specifically, research is focused on the interaction between immunophilin protein FKBP52, discovered by Prof. Baulieu, and Tau, a protein responsible for many neurodegenerative diseases.

With the help of Friends of Fondation de France, U.S donors can support an exciting scientific project whose aim is to test laboratory-made drug candidates on their ability to slow down a pathological process linked to the abnormal accumulation of Tau in diseased neurons in culture (Tauopathies such as Alzheimer’s disease).
