Mission & Vision
Passerelles Numériques (PN) is a French nonprofit organization, founded in 2006, operating in Cambodia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Madagascar. PN’s mission is to unlock the potential of disadvantaged youths by giving them access to education, and the means to acquire key soft and hard skills in the digital sector. They provide training in their centers in Southeast Asia, and a preparatory program to enter university at their center in Madagascar.
PN believes that quality education is the key to empowerment and autonomy. PN wants each student to find a quality job aligned with local tech market needs, allowing them and their families to escape poverty in a sustainable way and contribute to the social and economic development of their country. Thus, PN unlocks the potential of underprivileged youths by empowering them with an innovative approach in key digital and soft employability skills.
Actions Led
Since its inception, more than 2,800 students have graduated, with 92% of graduates finding skilled employment within two months. These graduates typically contribute 30% of their salary to their families, enabling younger siblings to attend school and pursue their education.
PN’s training programs are aimed at vulnerable young people aged 18 to 23. Their beneficiaries are selected based on their extremely precarious economic situation. They mainly come from remote and rural areas where education and employment opportunities are scarce, and do not have the means to pursue higher education. Passerelles Numériques is committed to gender parity and fighting gender inequalities in higher education and tech : they strive to ensure that at least half of their students are girls.
Passerelles Numériques originated from a collaboration between the NGO Enfants du Mékong and the international consulting company Accenture. This partnership exemplifies PN’s belief that the private sector can work hand in hand with the nonprofit sector. Partnerships with companies are integral to PN’s success and form a core part of its operational model.
