Two earthquakes of unprecedented magnitude hit Southern Turkey and Northern Syria, on February 6, 2023, causing major sad losses.

Fondation de France has mobilized to provide assistance to the affected populations. To respond to the impacts of this disaster, the priority of Fondation de France is to directly support local Turkish and Syrian nonprofit organizations having already proved their worth and helping the populations affected by the earthquake without discrimination. Relying on its experience in the region and on its local partners, Fondation de France will support actions in two main fields:

• immediate emergency relief to help the victims,
• long-term recovery aid in a second phase (such as livelihood and psychological support and collective building rehabilitation).

Friends of Fondation de France donors can help the populations affected by the earthquakes by supporting immediate needs, as well as long term recovery.
